From the power of a single president to the power of the organization: A 10-year rebranding journey with TNS Co., Ltd.
Case Summary
Customer Name
TNS Co., Ltd.
Project Details
Corporate-wide rebranding, CI (Corporate Identity) design, tagline and logo development, corporate website and business-specific website construction, company brochures, safety rulebooks, business cards and envelopes, company vehicle wrapping, and outdoor signage design.
Purpose
The goal is to shift from a management system dependent on individual sales capabilities to an organizational management system aimed at achieving 10 billion yen in annual sales and going public. It also involves refreshing the traditional image of the scaffolding and temporary construction industry, gaining the trust of major general contractors and developers, strengthening recruitment capabilities, and building a brand foundation that will lead to the retention of young talent.
Situation
Driven by President Nozaki's sales skills and drive, the company grew to an annual turnover of 2 billion yen around its tenth year of operation. However, early departures of young employees continued, highlighting challenges in sharing values and establishing effective training systems. Furthermore, to expand business with major general contractors and developers, the company needed to transform its brand to convey its safety, organizational strength, and innovativeness.

01 Customer's challenge
Customer's challenge
The obstacles that stood in the way of achieving 2 billion yen in annual sales were "retaining young talent" and "industry image."
TNS Corporation has continued to grow, primarily through scaffolding construction work, driven by President Nozaki's strong sales skills and proactive approach. However, around its tenth year of operation, when it reached an annual turnover of 2 billion yen, two challenges that needed to be addressed to achieve further business growth became clear.
The first issue is retaining young talent. While the organization has expanded thanks to the president's passion and leadership, the company lacked sufficient shared values and training systems, resulting in a situation where employees in their 20s and 30s, whom we had trained, were leaving after only two to three years. In order to sustainably grow the business, it was necessary to shift from a management style that relied on individual capabilities to an organization where employees could grow while sharing a common set of decision-making criteria.
The second issue is the fixed image associated with the construction and scaffolding industry. As we aim to expand our business with major general contractors and developers, which we see as the next growth market, we found that simply being seen as a traditional construction company was insufficient to adequately convey our safety, organizational strength, and future potential. In order to aim for an IPO and annual sales of 10 billion yen, it was necessary to enhance our credibility as a company and fundamentally change how we are perceived by the outside world.
Initially, Lionheart received a request to "make their sales PowerPoint presentations more visually appealing." However, through repeated interviews with the management, it became clear that the core issue wasn't the appearance of the presentations, but rather the lack of clear articulation of what the company values and what kind of organization it aims to be. Therefore, instead of a one-off production, the project evolved into a rebranding effort that would reconstruct the company's values and external image in an integrated manner.
02 LH Method Strategy Development
Organize current status and challenges (Organize current status and challenges, and commit to realizing the vision)
With "safety" as the starting point of trust, the president's challenging spirit is expressed in the phrase "Tackle Never Satisfied."
First, we identified the gap between TNS's ideal vision—an organization with annual sales of 10 billion yen and a view to going public, and a company chosen by major developers and general contractors—and the organizational challenges and brand image at the time. As a result, we determined that it was necessary to clarify the values and behavioral standards that support corporate trust before implementing any visual redesigns.
When major general contractors and developers select subcontractors, they don't just prioritize novelty in design. How a company views on-site safety and how thoroughly it implements it within its organization is what determines its trustworthiness as a business partner. Therefore, even before creating company brochures and sales materials, we started working on a "Safety Rulebook" that organized the rules to be followed on-site into 100 items. By visualizing our commitment to safety through concrete actions, we aimed to unify awareness within the company and build trust with major corporations at the same time.
Furthermore, as a common language for the organization to move in one direction, the company name, "Tatsuya Nozaki Service (TNS)," was redefined by linking it to President Nozaki's challenging spirit. The tagline that emerged from this was "Tackle Never Satisfied." This phrase, which expresses the attitude of never being satisfied with the status quo and continuing to tackle difficult challenges head-on, transforms the president's personal beliefs into corporate values that all employees can share.
Visually, American football was chosen as a motif to symbolize strategic thinking, teamwork, and a persistent attitude toward achieving goals. By expressing both the intellectual development of strategies and the tenacious, gritty determination required when necessary, we have established a unique brand position for TNS that transcends the conventional image of a construction company, possessing both innovation and strength.
03 LH Solution Implementation Support
Solve the problem (Solve the problem with LH solution)
Implementing a consistent brand experience from philosophy to website, vehicles, and recruitment tools.
After formulating the strategy, we spent approximately two years deploying the corporate philosophy to every point of contact, both inside and outside the company. Our goal was not simply to refine individual materials such as logos and websites, but to ensure that employees, job seekers, and business partners alike would perceive a consistent set of values and a positive impression of TNS every time they interacted with the company.
- [CI, Logo, and Tagline Development] We developed a corporate logo and visual identity with "Tackle Never Satisfied" at the core of the brand. The design, which is sharp and innovative, expresses the company's commitment to continuous challenges, while also aiming to be a symbol that employees can be proud to wear.
- [Corporate Website & Business-Specific Websites] Focusing on the corporate website that conveys the group's overall business scope and growth potential, we built websites tailored to the target audience of each business, such as scaffolding construction and the manufacturing and sales of AdBlue® for diesel vehicles. While clearly defining the expertise of each business, we designed the information structure to convey TNS's diversified business development capabilities as a single corporate brand.
- [Unifying Company Vehicles, Signage, and Stationery] We unified the design of everyday tools, from car wrapping for company vehicles and trucks to outdoor signage, business cards, envelopes, and letterheads. This transformed opportunities for brand interaction in urban areas and on-site into platforms for brand communication, leading to recognition as a growing and innovative company.
- [Recruitment Website & Brochure "CATCH YOUR FUTURE"] We created a recruitment website and brochure for TNS to convey the appeal of working there and the environment in which employees can grow together with the business, targeting both new graduates and mid-career hires. Rather than relying solely on the CEO's passion, we helped them connect with talent who resonate with their values by clearly showing the future the company aims for and the attitudes it expects from its employees.
04 LH Method Execution Support
Continue to commit to achieving the vision (responding to changes in circumstances)
Annual sales increased from approximately 2 billion yen to approximately 8 billion yen. A decade that supported business growth and the retention of next-generation leaders.
Lionheart doesn't just finish a project after delivering the final product; for approximately 10 years, they have continuously updated their brand in line with changes in their business and organization. As a result, not only has their external recognition improved, but internal changes have also occurred, such as increased employee retention and the development of the next generation of leaders.
- Business Expansion: Annual sales, which were just under 2 billion yen at the start of the business, have grown to approximately 8 billion yen today through business expansion into vehicle sales, overseas exports, and AdBlue®, starting with the scaffolding business. By organizing and communicating the value of each business while maintaining brand consistency, we supported the building of trust across the entire diversified business.
- Retaining Young Talent and Developing Next-Generation Leaders: The shared value of "Tackle Never Satisfied" has permeated the company, making it easier for employees to understand their work and the company's direction. The problem of early turnover among young employees, which was once a concern, has improved, and currently, four key business unit managers in their 30s are leading the business. Brand building has become a foundation that supports talent retention and the growth of the next generation of leaders who will be responsible for management.
- Expanding business with major companies: By clarifying our safety management stance through a safety rulebook and consistently communicating information through our website and car wrapping, we appealed to customers with the reliability and innovativeness of our company. As a result, we expanded our contacts with major developers and general contractors, leading to the acquisition of large-scale transactions.
- Improved recruitment capabilities: By clearly communicating the company's growth potential, the significance of the work, and the ideal candidate profile through our recruitment website and brochures, we have been able to attract applications from recent graduates who would have been difficult to reach with the traditional image of the construction industry. Hiring individuals with diverse experiences and values is also bringing new inspiration to our existing employees.
[Future prospects for accompanying the team]
TNSLionheart is currently driving a major organizational transformation in real time, with the aim of further growth and development, and ensuring a smooth transfer of authority to the next generation of leaders. Lionheart continues to engage in dialogue with the president and heads of each business unit, proactively planning and proposing the formulation of a new brand concept, integrated logo design, and updates to various tools, all aimed at realizing the vision.
